The Honda Del Sol, the successor to the popular CR-X model, is a 2-seater Targa Top that shared a front engine design with the Honda Civic. It was popular for its performance, nimble handling, and good fuel economy. Like the Civic, due to a wide availability of parts the Del Sol is popular for use in motorsports. Civic wagons were only sold with a 5-speed manual with an extra 4WD gear (5+1 manual AWD). In 1984 a Civic Si hatchback model was released for the Japanese model only with a new 1.5-litre DOHC engine which made around 120 horsepower at the time of production.
